Thirty-six linear feet of x7 1-watt strip fixtures placed side by side below a cyclorama measuring 30 feet high by 40 feet wide. Fixtures are positioned flat against the cyc fabric, standing on the floor with trunnions, focused upward at a nearly 90° angle to the floor. No secondary spread lenses are used. Other lighting on the stage includes 500-watt PARs, 1,000-watt Fresnel units, and source four units from front of house.

Selador on Stage: Set Up for Alicia Adame

We wanted to see what a performer with only LED lighting looked like. With a stage set up of only four hours, we did not have time to focus—we just pointed in the general direction that we wanted the fixture to go. The cyc had x7-72's top and bottom of a 35-foot cyc. The side light was x7-72's hung on their sides from the floor to six feet about 75 feet apart. The top light was x7-72's lighting straight down at a 35-foot trim, and the backlight was the same with a back light focus. The front light was x7-24's, placed about 45 feet from the dancer (as you will see in the next video).

Selador on Stage: Alicia Adame performs under only LED lights

We wanted to see what a performer looked like under LED light, without any conventional stage fixtures. We set up the stage in a classic dance format and asked classical Spanish dancer Alicia Adame to dance under our light to see how bright the stage and talent would be. We used one-watt x7 LED fixtures. As you can see the light was very bright. We are not great videographers and have not tried to improve the look of this so you can see what it really looked like. Due to time we did not preset or focus any light or settings; we used what we had programmed for other shows without seeing her dance. Ms. Adame danced for about 45 minutes total and was surprised by the brightness of the stage and not perspiring under the light. Read more about Alicia Adame in her bio.
